Happy Belated Canada Day!
This little family has been away camping and returned late yesterday afternoon. We spent the long weekend camping at Mile High Adventure Resort, located between Merritt and Kamloops. It was more of a "roughin' it" type of weekend this time around as there were no electrical or water hookups at the campsite. Fortunately they did have showers and bathrooms. That is the dealbreaker for me! The resort is family owned and they have lots of things to do and rent - mountain bikes, ATV's, paddleboats, canoes, motor boats, horseback riding, etc. On Sunday they hosted a Canada Day celebration down by the water for all the campers complete with bbq'd hotdogs and free draws for some nifty "Canada" themed prizes. The area reminded us A LOT of going up to the "trailer" in Northern Ontario - the lake, the trees and vegetation, the grounds and even the weather (we had pretty cool weather but thankfully it didn't rain)
Keith rented a motorboat for 2 days and took Max out for his first official fishing trip. Talk about excitement! Max caught the first fish (a nice speckled trout) and he caught it only about 10 seconds after he dipped his line into the water. He reeled it in on his own (on his little trusty Tigger fishing pole) and his daddy was there to scoop it into the net. Both days, the boys caught their limit (2 fish each) and I'll leave you to guess what was on the menu for dinner at night!
