Playing a bit of catch-up

This past Sunday was very special for my itsy bitsy youngest littlest sister Vanessa. It was her baptism at church. All of her siblings and family were able to see and spend time with her over the course of the weekend. It was good! :-)

Late Sunday afternoon we zipped outside for a few photos.

Since we can't seem to behave when it comes to taking pictures, this is what we end up with:

Oh look, we actually cooperated. Heather was helping out with barn chores which is why she isn't in this photo. (Special little thanks to Michelle A. for snapping these two group pics for us.)

Spcial blessings to you Zezza!

And then we bribed the two little cousins for some photos with Grandpa and Grandma. If they cooperated with pictures for just a few minutes, then some jumping time on the trampoline would follow. Here they are with Grandpa (my dad). He looks pretty good doesn't he? He has pneumonia. Oh yes he does. Keith went hunting with him last week. My mom went along to visit with her little grandsons. Well, after the first day of hunting my dad wasn't feeling too great. The next morning my mom drove him to the hospital. So you know it must be bad if he agrees to go to the hospital to get checked out. They conducted all manner of tests and determined that he has pneumonia. So now he's on medication and supposed to get lots of rest and stay away from crowds of people. Not because it's contagious and he can pass it along to others. But because of the nasty germs that other people are/could be carrying and pass along to him. Now is not the time for him to contact that little piggy flu. So he is resting and doing a pretty good job of laying low overall. He skipped Heather's highschool commencement program on Friday night and stayed home and rested. Sunday morning he attended Vanessa's baptism service but then he went home immediately afterwards and slept all afternoon and skipped the fellowship potluck that was held.

Next we got Grandma in the picture with the little grandsons. Too bad that Mr. Wyatt wasn't around to stick in there as well. There is always next time. Tanner had a thing about pulling Alex's hair. He looks so cute and innocent, but check out his little hand...

The trampoline reward for a photo job well done...

Next up for photos, my sister LeeAnne. She is crazy, ok? She just can't ever be serious when it comes to photos. Although here it looks like she can be. So far so good...

But within seconds it turned into this...

And then this...

Followed by lots and lots of this...

Finally...a little cooperation and we have success.

But how boring is that? Not to worry, in a twinkling of an eye we're back to this...

Lots of laughing was done. What a crazy girl! Later this week she will be off on a business trip halfway around the world...to India and will be gone for three weeks. I'm trying to convince her to start up a blog and post photos daily so her family and friends can keep in touch with her and see what she's up to. How exciting, huh? Gosh!

Keith is off to Vancouver today on business and will be gone for the rest of the week. Let's not even talk about it. Max overheard us discussing it this weekend. Sunday morning he announced he was so excited about our trip to Vancouver this week! Ahhhhh...sorry buddy...not this time....

So far we've managed to keep under the radar of sickies and the flu. Although this weekend both Max and I were definitely not feeling 100%. Saturday was one of those days I just stayed in my pj's all day and rested. Feeling much better now. A sorethroat threat is lingering in my head but I'm popping lots of vitamin c's and echinecea and getting lots of sleep at night so hopefully it will stay only a threat and not get worse.

And speaking of getting lots of sleep...I love that the time has changed and it gets darker early. Maybe I'm weird...but that signals the start of hot chocolate and cozy pj bottoms at 5:00pm at night. Yay! Early nights sound good to me! ;-)

And about the hunting trip that Keith was on last week. One of the guys in their hunting group got a moose so they were all pretty excited about that. He took lots of fantastic photos. He's quite the little photographer if I do say so myself. I think he would love if I posted some on my blog. But ehhhhhhhhh....I'm not sure. I'm going to have to sit down with him and censor some of them....what do you guys think? Are you game for seeing a big old dead moose on my blog?! ha!!
