North Van part deux

Another favourite spot we visited was the Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge. But we went with an ulterior motive. By this time it was 4:00pm in the afternoon and we were absolutely WILTED. No energy and just needed to keep cool somehow. Once you cross this bridge you can do a little hike through the rainforest and access the river. I figured that Max could splash around in the water and keep cool and I would dip my feet in and watch him. Not only did we have that great idea, about 500 other people did too. It was polluted with people. All trying to keep cool. It worked. And it was great. Seriously!

We always keep a pair of Max's swimming shorts and a beach towel in our vehicle wherever we go. In Kelowna and in Vancouver. Because when it's hot...you try to do as many water activities as possible and the water is very accessible.

Here we go...the little hike through the rainforest to get to the river...

Ah yes, what can I say? My boy LOVES rocks.

Doesn't really look like there were many people around, does it? Yeah. This next picture should change your mind. And that doesn't show very many of them...behind this group were hundreds more.

We spent an evening visiting Laith & Hind and their family. They had just bought and moved into their new home. We enjoyed a delicious bbq dinner. This was the night the kids were observing the sky with a telescope and were convinced they saw meteors crashing into the earth and astronauts waving at them.

A favourite part of our evenings together is when chai is served to the adults. Hind makes the BEST chai (from scratch) and it is served with fresh fruit, nuts and delicious Iraqi pastries. Mmmmm!

Max begged for another visit to the Aquarium. It's a great place. Check out this ginormous sea turtle. I love this photo. It was just luck that it swam in front of Max when he was standing in front of the tank.

It seems like every time we go to the Aquarium, there is a different area that interests the Maxter. This time it was the frog area. We've never spent much time in that gallery before, but I have to say it was interesting. Lots of frogs in this world!

No trip would be complete without some time spent observing the Dolphin tank.

There was another baby beluga born this summer. While we were in the gallery room watching the tank, the baby beluga was nursing. Interesting little lesson for Max! ha!

And the fantastic, never boring, always changing and super fabulous Dolphin show - it's a must see!

It was after this that we flew to Ontario. And my camera broke. Somehow during the flight? When I got off the airplane in Toronto it was not working and I was camera-less for a few weeks. Oh the horrors! :-)
