We're nearing the end of a fabulous week. I think the bright sunshine we had every day this week had something to do with the fabulousness of it all. You can't help but be happy and cheerful and have lots of energy when it's beaming into every corner of your world during the day!
This morning Michelle came over with Miss E and Miss M for a playdate and lunch. She brought along a delicious pizza - it had a wholewheat thin crust and had spinach, tomatoes and chicken on it. YUMM! I made a salad to go with it and we had some veggies and fruit. Hit the spot. Isn't that nice when the guests bring the food? LOL! (Thanks again Michelle - It's my turn next week though!) The kiddo's had fun playing with the Elefun game and they also made a cute little valentine craft.
Early this afternoon Max decided he wanted to work on his valentines for preschool. Yes, we are on top of things around here! He had started to work on them last week already. Today he finished printing his name on the back of all of them. Then we used gold curling ribbon and tied each one to a bendy straw. Et voila! We are all finished. They are packed away until Valentines Day....just hope I don't forget where I put them by the time it rolls around.
Speaking of Valentines, last weekend I was strolling through Michaels on a mission to find a specific item. I could NOT believe my eyes. Of course the aisles were full of Valentines decorations and crafts - that's to be expected. But after the Valentines Day stuff....they had huge displays of St. Patricks day stuff....and then after the St. Patty's Day stuff....they had huge displays of Easter stuff! WHAT? Yes....all their Easter stuff is out. My WORD! Talk about rushing the seasons. Meanwhile, the next aisle over was all the discounted Christmas decorations. And alot of them. But who feels like buying Christmas stuff when the Easter stuff is staring you in the face?! I just kept strolling along - not one of the upcoming celebrations remotely tempted me into buying!
Later this afternoon, Max had his tiny tot hockey game. He's the middle guy (all in black) in the photo above....and he's about 1 helmet head shorter than everyone else on his little team. But he doesn't let that hold him back. He gives it his all each week. Today he scored a goal so that was the icing on the cake for him. The first week he scored a goal as well. Last week he didn't...and he wasn't a happy camper. We've had many talks this week about "having fun" and "it's about teamwork and learning the game...not just scoring goals". We'll have to keep reinforcing that each week.
Have a great weekend!
