If stuff isn't organized and in it's place, it drives me absolutely bonkers.
Moves are really hard on that need!
Each place we've moved into is completely different from the previous. And so the furniture goes into different rooms/different floors. It's like doing a giant 3D puzzle. (Our cushy-comfy-TV-watching black leather couch doesn't fit down our basement stairs in this house. So it's on the main floor. And we put our cream leather couch downstairs instead. Not exactly ideal, but you do what you have to do.)
There's always a few pieces that just don't work or you don't need in the new place. (We bought our low profile TV stand less than a year ago for our Kelowna house. This house doesn't need it because the TV is above the fireplace. And that's where a garage sale/craigslist/kijiji comes in. Or your sister :-)
There's usually a few empty places that require furniture you don't have. (Our Vancouver house had built-ins in the master bedroom closets...shelves, cubbies, drawers, rods. Everything had a place inside the closet. We didn't need any dressers...totally awesome!)
It's a shuffle, learning process. Requires lots of fine-tuning to make the new home work for us. A process which takes time. We've found it's best to live in the house for a while before rushing out to buy the pieces you need. And that's the part that drives me bonkers...living out of boxes and having disaster rooms holding the things you have nowhere to go with. We've been in this house 6 months now. Starting to get a feel for it. We need some bookcases/storage for our office. Ended up with this piece below. I think it's going to work out awesomely once I find the right baskets and bins for it. And as long as we can convince Max to give up his "pet shop".

He started loading up the cubbies with stuffies before Keith and I were done building/putting it together. From there, he turned it into a library and bookstore. He has lots of ideas for it. All involving his stuff! :-)
