Checklist for a successful 6 year olds birthday
Birthday banner and decorations? Check.
Yummy waffles and maple syrup for breakfast? Check.
Opening one present before school? Check.
Wearing the coveted "birthday medal"? Check.
Daddy arriving home from a business trip minutes before we walk to school? Check.
Rice Krispie treats with sprinkles for his class? Check.
Picking a prize from the "birthday box" in his class? Check. (hello smiley frisbee!)
Having a fun day at school which must include soccer and french class? Check.
Opening presents after school? Check.
Jumping up and down excitedly because presents involve Space Police Lego? Check.
Getting 6 year portraits done at the photo studio? Check.
Acting like a well behaved young man while getting portraits taken? SCRATCH. Didn't happen.
Dinner at Montana's with waiters singing Happy Birthday and having to wear the viking helmet? Check.
Annual birthday photo in Keith's hockey jersey? Check.
Phones calls of birthday wishes from grandparents & friends across the miles? Check.
Celebrating birthday in evening with grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins? Check.
Speed Racer birthday cake? Check.
Ensure everyone has a blue tongue, teeth and lips from eating birthday cake? Check.
Happily tired little birthday boy at the end of the evening? Check.
