End of the Year Preschool Picnic

Today was the end of the year picnic for the entire preschool at a local neighbourhood park. The rain managed to hold off...barely. The big draw at this picnic is the waterpark area for the kids to play in. Even though it was very cool...that did not stop some of the braver little souls from splashing around. And if you can believe it, my little Max was one of them. He just couldn't seem to stay away from it. He has never been overly drawn to splashing around in the water. I'm thinking we can thank his current swimming instructor for the change in him now! :-) He got so wet at one point, his hair was dripping and his jeans were completely dripping/soaking wet. Not to mention his socks and running shoes. I caught him placing his entire foot in the path of the water coming from the hoses. Repeatedly. Being cold and wet was not bothering him obviously. Brrrr! Oh to be a kid again.

Other fun activities (when I could drag him away from the water area) included a scavenger hunt (which involved finding seeds, insects, pinecones, litter, stone, leaves, soil, buttercups and dandelions and wood), bubble station, painting murals on huge sheets of paper, tattoos, balloon animal entertainer (Max steered clear of that guy and informed me he DID NOT want one of those balloons), M&M hotdogs and juice, parachute and hula-hooping.

Even though the weather was less than desirable, at least it wasn't rained out. Max didn't seem to mind and it was a fun way to spend the morning. The last two photo's are of him with his awesome teachers Pam & Melinda.

Here's hoping for better weather tomorrow!

Last but not least, I want to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to my sweet friend Carol - it's her birthday today!! Happy Birthday!!
