More Vancouver

Saturday was a beautiful day weather wise and it was also the first time the three of us had free time all together. We took a little vote and decided to spend some time downtown at Science World.

Keith and Max are two peas in a pod. Interesting to see how they love doing the same things. Here they are playing mind games...whoever is the most relaxed wins. Keith won. Something tells me the Maxter has no clue how to relax on demand.

I'm not sure who enjoyed Science World the most....Keith or Max. They both were busy having fun!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have identical quintuplets? I was given a small glimpse...

Cypress Mountain is the 2010 Olympic venue for freestyle skiing and snowboarding. It is only a 10 minute drive from our old home in North Van. We went for a little drive to check it out. Halfway up the mountain is a fantastic lookout where you can look out over the most of Vancouver. We stopped and took a couple of pictures. While it was a beautiful clear day, it was super  bright and sunny so it was hard to get a decent photo.

It was a very busy day at the ski hill. Lots of people were taking advantage of the beautiful weather.  Here is a shot of the ski runs that will be used in February...

And this is what appears to be grandstands/seating that they are still building. We are all really looking forward to watching the 2010 Olympics in February!!

We did a quick little tour around the Park & Tilford Gardens (or the Butchart gardens as Max still likes to refer to them as). They are all decked out for the holiday season. Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to visit at night, we were too busy. The gardens are such a beautiful, peaceful, little hidden gem!

Saturday evening we were invited over to Laith & Hind's home for a Christmas party, along with our our friends Gerry and Greg, Terri & Charlotte. We had a lovely time!

Hind is a fantastic cook. We always look forward to the delicious dishes she prepares. The middle dish is lamb on top of rice and the outside dishes are chickens stuffed with a special rice she prepares. Her rice is so good. It is not plain at all. There are all kinds of nuts and spices added...very flavourful and tasty! We also had salad and humus & pita bread. So good!

Greg & Terri and little Miss Charlotte. Oh! She is a sweetie!!!

And then we have Gerry.  Never a dull moment with him. And yes, that is a knife.

Later in the evening, we had dessert and chai. I think I've talked before about the chai that Hind makes...it's delicious. They prefer it with a ton of sugar. Keith and I like it plain. I find that the Tazo Organic Chai tea is a pretty good match to her chai. Still not as good...but the next best thing.

While we all sat around eating dessert, drinking chai and relaxing...

The kids were doing some partying of their own!

They managed to calm down for a few photos though before we had to leave.

I'm so jealous. Looks like you had a great trip! Thanks for the package for the girls today, they had a blast with the window clings.
